Spring and Summer Camp Schedule

We have another great year of spring break and summer camps schedule featuring a wide variety of topics. Our “taste” of tech features development of programming skills through the use of animation, game design, microelectronics, and robotics. For our robotic engineers, or anyone desiring to learn design and engineering skills, we also offer a full week robotics camp featuring the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robot kit. Our Minecraft camp is sure to fill up, but we assure our parents that we have much more than just play in mind as we will task our campers to design and build challenging worlds to… (Read More)

Makers Camp, August 1 – 5

We’re excited to add a special camp to construct a Rube Goldberg Machine, a contraption that does nothing useful but in a very complicated and convoluted manner. Each camper will have their own section to design and build with help from the entire team. Sections may be entirely mechanical or may contain electronic, robotic and computer controlled devices. On day one, the kids will brainstorm the purpose of the machine. The theme for this year will be trash and recycling. As an example, there are many efficient designs to crush a can, and crushed cans save a lot of space making it… (Read More)

Spring Break Is Here

Kids love this week. Not even windy and wet weather can disappoint a kid because worse case there’s a) no school and b) Summer is right around the corner. We’re busy this week with our “taste of tech” camp program with a great set of kids eager to learn, share, and play their way to becoming future engineers and scientists. Or maybe an artist or a poet. We’re working with creative software and engaging environments to teach animation, game design, and programming skills. And that’s just day one!

Camp Update

Our Minecraft camp is now full! We will still accept standby reservations in case a seat opens up. It sounds like perhaps we should have more Minecraft activities, like our adventure quest this Friday from 5-9pm. Our other camps, including Spring Break Tech Camp this week, are about half full. I expect the summer camps may fill up before our early bird discount price of $250 flys away on May 1. But we are adding an additional “inventors” camp to the schedule. Watch for the announcement next week. Hmm, how to integrate Minecraft into it…

Seeking Summer Interns

We may not have a huge salary pool. Ok, we’re all unpaid volunteers… but we have a lot of fun, especially during our summer camp programs! And the rewarding feeling we have on Friday afternoon, as our kids share their projects with family and friends, is too immense to measure. We have three week long camps this summer, two with a focus on robotics and a third featuring a variety mix of technical topics. No experience is required. We will prep you for the most common questions, but really we mostly use the “granny” method. Sit back and admire their… (Read More)
