The Greenbelt Makerspace is currently operating as a tool lending library. We are focused on:

• Equity: provide access to everyone for making repairs and creating
• Sustainability: reduce number of tools manufactured and trashed
• Community: abundance for all our neighbors
• Growth: opportunity for growth, learning, experimentation
• Cost: share cost of purchase and maintenance
• Space: access to hundreds of tools without needing to store them
• Knowledge: space for learning, training, and workshops
• Confidence: build skills and confidence at your own pace

The tool lending library is like a public library, except for borrowing tools, garden equipment, kitchen items, and more! The tool library is membership-based, with dues on a sliding scale for one year from the date you join. You can check out eight (8) items per week free with your annual membership dues. We currently have over 500 tools available for check-out or use on-site.

The Greenbelt Makerspace and Tool Library is located in the Granite Building in Old Greenbelt, located at 115 Centerway, Suite 108, Greenbelt, MD 20770.

Current open hours are:

• Thursdays: 6:30 – 8:00 PM
• Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Sundays: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

We are a 501(c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization (EIN: 81-4735855). Greenbelt Makerspace is an entirely volunteer-run organization, and we depend on annual memberships, donations, grants, and sponsorships.

We also plan to return to developing resources and programs that engage our members in activities related to science, technology, the arts, and crafts.
